A Sliver
When I arrived at Deadhorse Point, it was completely dark. Having never been there before, I stumbled my way across the rocky cliff trying to find a composition to set up and wait for the sun to rise. This tree in the foreground caught my eye so I set up in the are and waited. And waited. And waited. As the sunrise time approached a thick bank of clouds were off to the east, dashing my hopes for a colorful sunrise. Quite to my surprise, a small gap in the clouds allowed a sliver of sun to shine through and streak across the landscape for less then a minute. If I did not already have my gear set and waiting, I would have missed the moment. Deadhorse Point State Park, Utah
