Jamestown Windmill

I have driven by this windmill so many times while photographing in Jamestown. The conditions never seemed to catch my eye. On this morning though, the darker sky caught my eye and I knew if I could get some light I might finally have my image. I played around with some different compositions and really ended up liking this one with the grasses as the foreground. I just had to wait for the light to come through a small gap in the clouds before it disappeared for the rest of the morning into the cloudy sky. A few minutes later, the light came streaking through giving the scene exactly what it needed. Jamestown, Rhode Island
