Mountain Drama

The Million Dollar Highway in the San Juan mountains of Colorado is one of the best drives in the country. Despite the white knuckle driving, you are surrounded by scenic mountain views. One fall while visiting, there was an overnight snow storm. Not much fell, but enough to give the area a nice wintry vibe. Driving to Silverton, I came around a corner and saw this scene that stopped me in my tracks. I knew I had to find a spot to photograph it from. I turned around and found a small pull out to park as there is no shoulder on this road. I really love the drama that the cloud adds to the scene and the dusting of snow on the pine trees in the foreground. San Juan Mountains - Silverton, Colorado
