Rushing Around

Bass Harbor Lighthouse in Acadia is a top attraction in the park. Often so crowded, you are unlikely to get a parking spot without waiting quite a long time. I thought I would be smart and try a sunset here, it was October and I thought to myself it couldn't get that crowded at this time of year. How wrong I was! I got stuck in the line of cars waiting for a spot, and with no way to turn around on this small narrow road, I was left sweating it out as to if I would get down there in time for the sunset. By the time I parked the sun was just going down below the horizon. As I got down to the rocks I was greeted with people everywhere! I worked my way out to the front of the pack in order to get a clean shot of the lighthouse, as you see here. Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse – Acadia National Park, Maine
