Glow & Flow
The hardest part about hiking the Narrows is not slipping on the rocks and falling down. I had not realized that when I started the hike, and did not have a walking stick with me to help prop me up. But wait! One of my tripod legs unscrewed to use as a monopod. I extended that and used it as my "walking stick" to help keep me upright and not fall into the water with a camera around my neck. This all went fine for a few miles of the hike, until as I was trying to take a picture and dropped the tripod leg into the river. Before I could react and grab it the current took it away and I simply could not catch up to it to grab it. Now I had no "walking stick" and no tripod to use either. I had a few close call the rest of the hike with getting the camera wet, but i managed to keep it dry and even get some nice images from the hike. Despite looking everywhere along the river banks for it on my way back out of the Narrows, I never did find that tripod leg. Zion National Park – Utah
