The Shadow

I sat on the rocks here for about two hours, waiting for a break in the clouds. The hike up to Grinell Glacier was mostly overcast, as the forecast predicted. On my way back down the trail this composition really caught my eye. In the overcast light however, it just looked kind of drab. Seeing as I had no where to be for the rest of the day, I set up and sat down hoping for a break in the clouds. I eventually got what I was hoping for as you can see here but I simply could not predict that the shadow of a cloud would be perfectly placed directly on the lake. Glacier National Park – Montana
